La Jolla Stand-up Paddleboard Rentals

Stand-up Paddle Boarding is one of the best ways to get out and enjoy the water. The sport began as an ancient Hawaiian tradition that was reintroduced to the world in the mid-60’s and has since become the fastest growing board spot in the world, largely credited to the fact that it’s pretty easy to learn!

Please note that we give a safety briefing to each renter, but we do not provide stand up paddle board lessons for rentals. If you're new to stand up paddle boarding and would like to learn how, we recommend you check out our lessons first.

Due to city regulations, we cannot transport your stand up paddle board to the beach for you. Our stand up paddle boards are inflatable, lightweight boards made for easy transportation from our shop to the beach and back.

La Jolla Stand Up Paddle Board Rental

Rent a stand-up paddleboard and head out into La Jolla’s beautiful Underwater Park. You’ll have 2 hours to explore our Ecological Reserve and enjoy one of San Diego’s best paddleboarding spots. While you’re on the water, you’ll have a chance to see the Seven Sea Caves, lots of marine life, and La Jolla’s iconic scenery!

Our stand up paddleboard rentals are inflatable, lightweight boards for easy transportation from our shop to the beach and back.

La Jolla Stand Up Paddle Board Rentals FAQ

What type of Stand Up Paddle Boards do you have?

Everyday California uses Tower Inflatable SUPs. They are 10’4”, and weigh 25lbs.

What is included with the SUP rental?

The rental includes 2 hours of paddling time, 1 paddle, 1 leash, and 1 USCG-approved life jacket.

What is the weight capacity of the SUP?

Up to 400lbs

What if I don’t know how to swim? Will I be able to do this?

We've had tons of people who have never kayaked before and don't know how to swim that had amazing experiences. However, if your activity includes snorkeling, then by state regulations you do need to be comfortable in the water.

Are there any rules or regulations?

We kayak in a Marine Protected Area, so nothing can be taken but photos. We will paddle and snorkel with sea life, and take direction from The Marine Protection Act of 1972.

What is the age restriction?

The city of San Diego and the San Diego lifeguards have set the age requirement at 5 years and older.

Where should I park?

There is plenty of parking in the residential streets surrounding our shop where you can park all day. Do not park in the lot adjacent to our shop: we don't own it, so if you park there you run the risk of being towed. We also do not recommend parking in a 90 minute commercial zone, as you will be here longer than that and will run the risk of getting ticketed.

Where do we keep our stuff?

We have lockers available for rent (they're $6) if you want to leave your stuff behind. If you don’t want to rent a locker we recommend keeping your valuables in your car.
